Tom Regis

TOM REGIS is a Hammond endorsed artist, keyboardist, multi-instrumentalist and author, whose performance and recording credits include Celia Cruz, Ofra Haza, Teddie Pendergrass, Eddie Gomez, Rafi, Tone Loc, Marianne Faithful, Cheb Mami, and others. Tom is also a composer, and many of his works have been used in film and television. Raised on classical music and the music of the Beatles, Tom’s musical path, travels and living experiences have allowed him to dig deep into styles ranging from classical, jazz, Latin, and Middle-Eastern, to folk, blues, rock, R&B, and gospel.

Since moving to Florida in 2011, Tom was the house keyboardist at the Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton for four years, and performed with several of his own groups until landing on Blues Equation, a band that is the perfect fit for his wide-ranging blues, jazz, and latin musical impulses. Tom is deeply grateful for his collaborative journey with like-minded musical souls.

Ben Sparrow

Saxophonist BEN SPARROW, originally from North Carolina, has been active on the South Florida music scene for more than a decade. In addition to an annual sell out feature performance at the New Bern Civic Theater in his native state, Ben's performance and recording credits include the Drifters, the North Carolina Symphony, and the Delray Jazz Collective among many others. He has performed at venues and festivals including the Palm Beach International Jazz Festival at West Palm Beach’s Kravis Center, the Jazz Fest of Pompano Beach, and Fiesta Sunset Jazz in the Dominican Republic.

Ben has also had the great pleasure of being one of the most in demand lead horn voices for the best of Florida’s thriving Brazilian musical community with artists such as Phill Fest, Nanny Assis, Isac Jamba, and the exciting Gafieira Rio group of Miami. Ben’s musical collaborations with band-mate Tom Regis and mutual musical passions have naturally led to the formation of Blues Equation.

The Landivar Brothers

The LANDIVAR BROTHERS, Krister and David, moved to the U.S. from Trujillo, Peru, at the young ages of six and eight, and have been performing professionally since ages nine and eleven. Together with their father, they have been gracing the stages of South Florida with the group Landivar, a sophisticated fusion ensemble that combines jazz and rock.  Drummer Krister, who is also an accomplished engineer, is one of the most in-demand musicians in South Florida with his undeniable precision and organic groove. His long list of credits includes performances with Robben Ford, Josh Smith, Matt Scofield, Jacob Jeffries, and many others.

Guitarist David, whose virtuosity is accompanied by a great sense of taste and musical sensitivity, was noticed as a young teenager by guitar great Steve Vai, who invited David to the stage to perform. David’s credit list, in addition to the group Landivar, also includes Pepe Alva and leadership in various groups throughout the years. David’s musical flexibility has also been on display with his performances in Ireland with the Celtic group Cracklin Rosie – just the kind of musical adventurism that suits Blues Equation’s wide appeal musical mission.
